On March 8, 2020, at approximately 8:38 pm, Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Paloma Avenue and East Market Street. Officers checked the area and located multiple bullet casings in the 100 block of Paloma Avenue. Shortly thereafter, a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old male approached the officers and stated they were sitting in a car when a vehicle stopped beside them. A male occupant in the suspect vehicle then asked the victims, 'Do you bang?” The victims told him 'no” and drove away. A suspect exited the vehicle and fired multiple shots at the victims, but luckily, no one was hit.
Detectives investigated the case and determined 23-year-old Antonio Terrones was directly involved in the shooting. Detectives tracked down Mr. Terrones and took him into custody without incident. The Detectives and SWAT Team then served an associated search warrant in the 100 block of Main Street and found multiple firearms. During the warrant service, 26-year-old Michael Gose was contacted at the residence. Mr. Gose was arrested and later booked for a felony arrest warrant for violation of Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS). Mr. Terrones was booked into Monterey County Jail for attempted murder, street terrorism (gang crime) and parole violation.
