Salinas Police Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation on the 800 block of Caribbean Ave. Prior to officers arriving, the call was upgraded to a victim of a shooting. Officers were able to locate the male juvenile victim suffering from several gunshot wounds and facilitated treatment. It appears that the victim was on foot when he was approached by an unknown type car after which he was shot. It was later determined the victim's wounds did not appear to be life threatening.

No. The Salinas Municipal Code  prohibits any fowl or livestock to be kept as pets. This includes pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, etc. Roosters are especially bothersome because of the noise they create and the fact they are sometimes used for cockfights and gambling.
